My experience with writing the Analysis Essay was a more positive experience than with the DSP essay. When I sat down over the summer to write my DSP essay I felt overwhelmed and unprepared. I did not know where to start or how I was going to reach the length requirement. Writing this Analysis Essay was much different. Instead of charging ahead without a clear plan, like I did with the DSP essay, I worked on the Analysis Essay in stages. By reading, collecting quotes, and planning the organization of my essay, I found it easier to meet the length requirement and have a more efficient essay. The biggest decision I had to make while writing the Argument Essay was what exactly to write, reflect, and analyze in King’s “Letter from Birmingham Jail.” I brainstormed and made lists and miniature outlines to help me decide what exactly to write about.
